Steamboat at Ting Yuan

yesterday had a small gathering with my ex colleague from ocbc, whom r my good frenz... initially our plan was to go chong qing for steamboat... however, upon reaching there with them and gina, the queue was damn long! joc n na din wanna wait for soo long, so we faster tink of a backup plan... suggested either xian de lai or ting yuan... these 2 shops were rather near each other... so we went to check out xian de lai... find it to be a bit more ex than the ting yuan... so we decided for ting yuan...

not very crowded when we reached there ard 7pm... went to the 2nd floor... ordered quite a bit of stuff n waited patiently for the food to come... so we chit chat while waiting... din wait for very long, probably like 10mins... our 1st round of food emptied quite fast... perhaps all of us were hungry... :p had mala soup and chicken soup... mala a bit too strong for my liking... the chicken soup taste quite nice...

wat we ate: pork balls, luncheon meat, hotdogs, crabsticks, pork belly, pork slice, chicken slice, fish meat, prawns, squids, golden mushrooms, abalone mushrooms, spinach, cabbage. we ate more of pork slice, chicken slice, fish meat, prawns, golden mushrooms and spinach... :p
the prawns were quite big n fresh... the fish meat also taste very nice n fresh! chong qing would have more varieties!
wat we drink: 1 jug of lime juice... we din drink a lot so its quite enuff for us... however, if u r a big drinker, then 1 jug is definitely not enuff for u... :p per jug at $6... per glass is at $3... so of cos, i would choose jug... haha... this is where chiong qing is muchie better than ting yuan as the drink is free flow...

total for the 3 of us cost $68.20... hmm... will not go back again... no doubt the food standards were quite ok... however its too ex... chong qing offers more variety and food is of same or better standard then ting yuan... its also muchie cheaper than ting yuan with its free flow if drinks...

oh ya, if u intend to smell nice after the steamboat, then would tink tat ting yuan is not a place for u... i stink a lot after leaving ting yuan due to its poor ventilation... throughout the dinner, the mala pot hot air kept flowing to my direction... even after today i bathe n washed my hair, my hair still have the smell! this would really stop me from going to ting yuan riaos...

Cheers,
